Dating app Tinder is being sued for sexual harassment and discrimination after the company's former marketing head claimed that two executives - both of Iranian-Jewish descent - mistreated her.
Whitney Wolfe claimed that chief marketing officer Justin Mateen started sending her abusive text messages after her romance with him turned sour. She also alleges that chief executive Sean Rad ignored her when she reported the problem to him.
She claimed that Mr Mateen publicly called her a "desperate loser" and told colleagues she was an alcoholic - and that she was called "dramatic or emotional girl" by Mr Rad when she complained. Ms Wolfe resigned in April.
Co-defendant InterActiveCorp [IAC], which owns a majority stake in the Los Angeles-based company, told the BBC that Mr Mateen had been suspended and that they were investigating.
IAC added: "We condemn these messages, but believe that Ms Wolfe's allegations with respect to Tinder and its management are unfounded."
