Russia admits it - not Hizbollah - sent drone into Israel

articlemain

Russian officials have confirmed that a drone which crossed into northern Israel last month belonged to them.

At the time Israel thought the drone belonged to the Lebanese terror group Hizbollah.

But, according to a report in Haaretz, Russian officials have now admitted that the drone was, theirs, although they say it entered Israeli air space on July 17, as a result of “human error”.

The Israel Defense Forces failed to shoot down the drone on three occasions.

It is believed to be the first time the IDF has reacted to a Russian aircraft entering its air space from Syria.
