Actress Mila Kunis has made the dreams of an American soldier come true after she attended the Marine Corps Ball on his arm.
The Jewish star, whose films include Black Swan and Friends With Benefits, agreed to accompany Sgt Scott Moore to the event in July, after he posted a plea to her on YouTube. The video went viral within days and has now been viewed almost four million times.
Sgt Moore, who has served in Afghanistan, was aided in his campaign by Justin Timberlake, who persuaded his erstwhile costar that she should go to the ball in service to her country.
Ms Kunis, 27, who was born in the Soviet Union, wore a black dress for the party and put her hair up in a bun.
"Everything went well," said Captain Scott Sasser, a spokesman for the Marine Corps. "It was a great experience for everybody."
Sgt Moore's invitation prompted a wave of copycat videos. Scarlett Johansson, another celebrity invited to a ball by a soldier, did not attend but sent a case of champagne to her suitor instead.
