Vandals have smashed headstones at a Jewish cemetery in Istanbul.

The incident, which happened on the final day of Passover, left at least eight gravestones damaged at the Beyoglu cemetery.

Police are looking at security camera footage to investigate what happened.

Last week a 19th century synagogue on the Greek island of Corfu was attacked by arsonists. The vandals set fire to the synagogue's collection of religious books and papers, leaving many of them severely damaged.
