Israel has sent a medical team to Belarus following a bomb blast in the country’s capital which left at least 12 people dead.

More than 200 people were wounded, many of them critically, following the explosion of a radio-controlled device in an underground train carriage on Monday evening.

Officials in the former Soviet republic have described what happened as a terrorist attack.

The team of nine, expected to be in Minsk by tomorrow morning, includes trauma specialists and forensic experts.
