Israel honours Arab teen who was killed in revenge attack

articlemain

Israel has added Muhammed Abu Khdeir’s name to a monument for terror victims on Jerusalem’s Mount Herzl.

The Palestinian teenager was kidnapped and killed last summer in an act of revenge following the murder of Israeli teenagers Gilad Sha'ar, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach by Hamas terrorists.

The teenager was honoured on Israel’s terror victims’ memorial this week to mark Yom Hazikaron.
He is believed to be the first Arab killed by Jews to be added to the memorial.

Abu Khdeir’s father, Hussein, said he was pleased with the decision to recognise his son.

He said: “It’s an excellent initiative. But I’m interested in something completely different: that the court will convict the men who burned my son and sentence them with appropriate punishments.”
