Iranians want to attack Israel - with a computer game

articlemain

Iran is planning an attack on Tel Aviv – but it is not one that will leave many Israelis quaking in their boots.

Disgruntled by the existence of a bestselling computer game – developed in the US – that allows players to pose as members of the US military undertaking a raid on Tehran and searching for nuclear devices, the Iranian computer games industry has decided to fight fire with fire.

According to Behruz Minaii, the head of Iran's National Foundation for Computer Games, developers are now planning "Attack on Tel Aviv: the computer game".

Mr Minaii told the Fars News Agency that he had written to Electronic Arts, the makers of the game Battlefield 3, to complain. The game is also banned from being sold in Iranian stores.

"They said we should take it easy. But with the game set in Tehran, it is simply not acceptable," he said. "The US is governed by the Zionist Regime so [Attack on Tel Aviv] would make Americans angrier than a game about an attack on Washington."

EA is currently working on Battlefield 4.
