A Hamas commander who ran the terror group’s General Security Apparatus and is described by the IDF as a “key figure” has been assassinated in an Israeli strike, the IDF has confirmed.

Mahmoud al-Aswad operated as Hamas’s general security leader for Western Gaza and is described by the Israelis as a “significant source of knowledge” for the terror group. He was killed in northern Gaza Strip last Friday based on IDF and Shin Bet intelligence.

Additionally, the IDF further revealed on Wednesday morning that troops were operating on the outskirts of Gaza City in the north and Khan Yunis in the south to locate and dismantle terror infrastructure above and below ground.
