The offices of the Islamic charity that played a key role in the 2010 flotilla to Gaza have been raided by anti-terror police in Turkey.
One person was arrested at offices belonging to the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) near the Syrian border on Tuesday, according to a report in the Financial Times.
But a charity head denounced the arrest as part of a “smear campaign”. IHH Secretary-General Yasar Kutluay told the FT: “These Israel-friendly institutions, organisations or the structures hidden inside will definitely be found out”.
He claimed that Turkish police did not present a warrant on entering the premises.
The IHH operated the Mavi Marmara ship that was boarded by Israeli forces during the Gaza flotilla raid.
