A Paris court has set the date for John Galliano's trial for alleged racism.

At a hearing today the designer, fired by fashion house Dior after he was filmed making offensive comments about Jewish people, was told he would be expected in court on June 22.

The court said the trial would last only a day.

If he is convicted Mr Galliano, 50, could be fined up to £20,000 and be jailed for up to six months.
