French soldiers stabbed while guarding Jewish centre

articlemain

The three French soldiers stabbed while on-duty in Nice were patrolling a Jewish community centre.

The attacker, who has been named as Moussa Coulibaly, used an 8 in blade to attack the soldiers, injuring two in the face and one in the arm. He was detained soon after the attack.

His last name is the same as that of Amedy Coulibaly who carried out the murder of four Jews at kosher supermarket Hyper Cacher last month.

The attacker was a known radical, having been expelled by Turkey only last week.

Board of Deputies president Vivian Wineman said: “I was saddened to hear of the attack on French soldiers in Nice while they were guarding a Jewish communal building in that city. This emphasises the need for continual vigilance. We wish the soldiers a speedy recovery.”
