A 16-year-old Danish girl has been charged with planning a “terrorist” attack on a Jewish school.
The girl, along with a 24-year-old friend, who has been described as a recent convert to Islam and a former fighter in Syria, has been charged with acquiring chemicals to make bombs for attacks on two schools, one of which is Jewish. The friend has been charged with complicity in preparing the bombs.
Both have pleaded not guilty. They have not been named by the authorities or the media.
The Danish intelligence service has classified the security threat in the country as “serious” since February 2015, when a gunman killed two people in an attack on a Copenhagen synagogue before being shot dead by police.
