Moving out of the top ten wealthy names included casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who was placed at number 16 despite losing an estimated $36 billion during the credit crunch, and New York mayor and Bloomberg founder Michael Bloomberg.
The Jewish duo behind Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, appeared in joint 24th place. The 37-year-old were said to be worth an estimated £19.8 billion each, less that 13 years after they lanuched the internet search engine.
Even his pledge of an £65 million donation to Human Rights Watch could not push hedge fund billionaire George Soros of the list. The Holocaust survivor, now 80, was at number 46 on the list with an estimated net worth of $14.5 billion.
Last month Both Mr Bloomberg and Mr Soros were named as two of the ten most generous American philanthropists of 2010.
