Punk musician MIKRAT told the JC: ‘The problem isn't a song; it's the genocide Israel is committing against the Palestinians’

A song called Death, death to the IDF is available for streaming on Amazon for less than a pound, despite the site removing T-shirts bearing the same slogan from its online store.
The one-and-a-half-minute song, which repeats the chant popularised by rap duo Bob Vylan earlier in the year at Glastonbury, was produced by pro-Palestinian artist MIKRAT, who calls his work a "musical counteroffensive".
The song has been available since July 3 and costs 79p to download.
MIKRAT has an online following of around 15,000 and, on a number of occasions, has reported that his videos have been banned from platforms such as YouTube. Amazon, however, has not taken down his song.
A Spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said: "It is staggering that the murderous chant ‘death, death to the IDF' is still being streamed on its music platform.
"A minute-and-a-half of open incitement to murder is not ‘art’ - it is the promotion of hatred."

Meanwhile, Amazon has taken down T-shirts printed with the words "death, death to the IDF" which were being sold on the online store. Amazon's actions reportedly came after receiving a letter from Israeli lobby group UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI).
A spokesperson for the group said: "We are pleased that Amazon acted swiftly and removed this offensive item."
CAA added: "It is right that Amazon has removed T-shirts glorifying calls for violence, but the company must apply its own standards consistently.
"Material that glorifies or encourages death has no place on its platform, nor anywhere else, and should be removed immediately.”

MIKRAT told the JC: "CAA should be more concerned about the atrocities committed by the IDF in Gaza, the more than 20,000 Palestinian children killed, than about what a punk song might say.
"The problem isn't a song; it's the genocide Israel is committing against the Palestinians."
The JC has contacted Amazon for comment.
