He also said that in the aftermath of September 11 the United States and the media “created and prepared public opinion so that everyone considered an attack on Afghanistan and Iraq as [their] right.”
Mr Ahmadinejad is on record calling the Holocaust a “fabrication” and used the speech, which was broadcast on Iranian television, to repeat this.
He said: "They made up an event, the so-called Holocaust which was later laid as the basis for the innocence of a group.”
Earlier in August Mr Ahmadinejad escaped assassination when convoy was hit with an explosive.
