American far-right political commentator Tucker Carlson has been accused of using an antisemitic dogwhistle in his speech at Charlie Kirk's memorial service.

The service for Kirk, who was fatally shot in Utah on September 10, was held yesterday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and was attended by around 100,000 people on Sunday.

Carlson, who was one of several speakers at the event, remarked on how Kirk's killing reminded him of Jesus’ crucifixion, saying: "Ultimately [Kirk] was a Christian Evangelist.

"It reminds me of my favourite stories ever. It is about 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem and Jesus shows up and he starts talking about the people and the power and he starts doing the worst thing you can do, which is telling the truth about people.
