Donald Trump has invited Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for a meeting in two weeks, the Israeli prime minister has announced.
The Washington visit, which has not been confirmed yet by the US, would mark Netanyahu’s fourth in-person meeting since President Trump returned to office in January, and come after Bibi delivers a speech during the General Debate of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York City.
Netanyahu is scheduled to deliver the first speech of the day on the morning of 26 September.
The White House Press Office has not commented on his announcement.
Netanyahu made the remarks when he took questions from Hebrew media following a press briefing in English and Hebrew on the state of the Israeli economy at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.
Trump, meanwhile, arrived in London last night with his wife Melania for his historic second state visit. The couple will travel by helicopter today to Windsor, where they will be greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales before meeting the King and Queen.
