Russ Solomon, who founded famous music store Tower Records, has died, aged 92.
Mr Solomon suffered a heart attack at his home in Sacramento, California, on Sunday night while watching the Oscars on television.
The life-long music fan, who left school aged 16 to sell used jukebox records from his father’s chemist shop, opened his first store in 1960 and following its success 200 further shops were opened in 15 countries.
But Tower went out of business in December 2006 after going into bankruptcy for a second time.
