Who are the Jewish acts performing at Glastonbury 2025? - The Jewish Chronicle

Glastonbury 2025 features a quietly impressive lineup of Jewish artists, spanning genres from indie and electronic to pop and folk. As well as controversial names on the lineup like Gary Lineker, Kneecap and Owen Jones, this year’s programme also includes a range of performers whose Jewish identity informs, subtly or explicitly, their work. Some are household names, others are emerging voices and one is even a former Immanuel head boy!

Here’s a closer look at the Jewish musicians performing this year and who to look out for as the crowds roll in.

SHANTEL
Thursday 5.15-6.00pm
Shangri-La Stage

SHANTEL, real name Stefan Hantel, is a German Jewish DJ who remixes traditional Balkan music with electronic beats. His mother's family were Jews from Czernowitz, now in Ukraine.

Bertie
Friday 12.00-12.30pm
Bread and Roses
Moving onto the first of the smaller Jewish acts playing at the farm this year. Ex-Immanuel Head Boy Bertie is an indie singer-songwriter who will be playing at the Bread and Roses bar near Left Field.

Gracie Abrams
Friday 6.45-7.45pm
Other Stage

Making her Glastonbury debut on the Other Stage is Gracie Abrams. The singer-songwriter was born to New York Jewish father (acclaimed director JJ Abrams) and an Irish Catholic mother.

Japanese Breakfast
Saturday 2.00-3.00pm
The Park Stage

The lead singer of this indie pop band,Michelle Zauner, was born to an American father and a Korean mother. Although her father does not practice Judaism, his mother was Jewish, making him ethnically Jewish.

Pyramid Stage

The Canadian-American musician behind hits such as 'Ironic' and "You Oughtta Know' found out she was "super Jewish" on PBS show Finding Your Roots. Her mother was born in Hungary to Jewish Holocaust survivors who covered up their Jewish roots.

ATTAWALPA

Strummerville

This British-Peruvian musician, born Luis Felber, has a Jewish father and is married to Lena Dunham.

And yes... we're hoping we might catch her at his set!

Scissor Sisters
Saturday 10.30-11.45pm
Woodsies

Surprised? Us too. But Babydaddy, AKA Scott Hoffman, from Scissor Sisters is Jewish on both his mother and father's side. We will definitely feel like dancing at their set at Woodsies.

Noah Kahan
Sunday 7.45-8.45pm
Pyramid Stage

Playing at the Pyramid stage just before headliner Olivia Rodrigo is American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan. Born to a Jewish father, he has dubbed himself the

"Jewish Ed Sheeran."

He told Billboard that being Jewish is integral to his identity: “Growing up half Jewish and having this face on me… it has kind of been a big part of my identity. I’m not going into a song, ‘Let’s get this one extra Jew-y.’ But I think it plays into the cultural aspect of [my music] – into the humour. And down to my diet. Like, I got the acid reflux stomach, just like my dad.”
