Three women have been arrested under the Terrorism Act after a van was rammed into a perimeter fence of a factory owned by a major defence firm.

The suspects, aged 31, 34 and 42, are accused of driving the vehicle into the barrier outside Leonardo’s laser and radar production facility in in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The company is Italian-owned but has significant business dealings with Israel, including supplying technological weaponry to the IDF.

Pictures from the scene showed a light blue panel van wedged into a dented, barbed wire-topped fence at the plant on Tuesday.
