Jewish TV presenter Claudia Winkleman has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles, for her services to broadcasting.

The 53-year-old – who was accompanied by her parents, Barry Winkleman and Eve Pollard, and husband Kris Thykier – was pictured grinning from ear-to-ear after receiving the honour at Windsor Castle on Tuesday afternoon.

Winkleman, who earlier this year was revealed to be the BBC’s highest-paid Jewish female star, has been a regular face on UK television screens since the 1990s. She became a household name in 2010 – when she began presenting BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly – and cemented her status as a national treasure when she became the face of the reality series The Traitors in 2022.

Winkleman’s MBE was announced in the King’s birthday honours list in June this year, alongside other impressive Jewish figures, including Holocaust survivor Manfred Goldberg, Dave Rich of the Community Security Trust and actress Tracy-Ann Oberman.
