Metropolitan Police have made a fourth arrest in connection with an investigation into an alleged £15 million crypto-currency scam in which two Charedi men have previously been arrested.
A 30-year-old man was arrested in Tottenham on Wednesday as part of Operation Galafarm, which has been launched by the Met’s Economic Crime Command.
It is alleged that £15million has been laundered through shell companies in a scheme targeting members of the public.
In May two men aged 24 and 36 were arrested after searches of premises in Stamford Hill.
According to the Israeli-based news outlet, Behadrei Charedim, the two were members of the Charedi community in Stamford Hill.
A third man, aged 37, later handed himself in a London police stage. All three were bailed.
The fourth man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and money laundering, according to police, and released on bail pending further enquiries.
