Self-styled priest James Costello exchanged letters with a convicted child sex offender and terrorist and wrote his own ‘bible’ advocating a war between races

A British neo-Nazi who “worshipped Hitler” is reportedly due to be freed early under a scheme to prevent prisons from overflowing.
James Costello was sentenced to five years behind bars in 2023 after being found guilty of stirring up racial hatred.
He was the leader of the Creativity Movement, a Hitler-worshipping cult, and had styled himself as a priest, despite not being ordained or affiliated with any church.
In that capacity, he even authored his own holy text, The White Man’s Bible, which advocated for a race war.
Costello was arrested in 2021 after stickers appeared in the Merseyside area advertising the movement and featuring Nazi imagery and racist content.
Police eventually traced the associated website to him and took him into custody.
The investigation also found that Costello had exchanged letters with Jack Renshaw, a member of proscribed neo-Nazi movement National Action and convicted child sex offender, who was jailed for life in 2019 in connection with a terror plot to murder former Labour MP Rosie Cooper.
Per The Telegraph, Costello is now set to be released just halfway through his sentence under the government’s early release scheme.
His release has been hailed by Laura Towler, deputy leader of the far-right movement Patriotic Alternative, who shared the news with followers and suggested that Costello had little remorse for his actions.
“Hey guys," she wrote. “Some good news. James Costello is getting out of prison this month. He’d like to say thank you to everybody who sent him cards and letters while he was inside.
“It really did make all the difference, and lots of his fellow inmates were very jealous of the amount of love and support he received.
“He says he can’t wait to have a carvery with lots of pork belly when he gets out, and he’s going to go for a long hike and get some fresh air.
“He is still on licence for the remainder of his sentence, so he will likely be excluded from any political activity, but know that he is resolute in his beliefs and, despite the suppression and harassment he’s faced over the last two years, he didn’t compromise on his beliefs once.”
