Jihad al-Shamie is accused of raping one of his partners multiple times over the course of three years and forcing another to watch extremist videos

The terrorist who carried out the Heaton Park Synagogue attack, which left two Jewish men dead last Thursday, pledged allegiance to ISIS and forced his 18-year-old mistress to watch the extremist group's barbaric videos.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that Syrian-born Jihad al-Shamie called 999 during his stabbing rampage at the synagogue to claim responsibility and dedicate the crime to the terror group.
ISIS’ rules call on terrorists to attribute their attacks to the group announcing their "motive and allegiance" before being killed or detained by police.
The BBC also reported that al-Shamie was having an affair with a sixth-form student, with whom he allegedly discussed rape fantasies. The student claimed that he would make her watch "extreme" ISIS videos and would also "stalk" her.
al-Shamie is reported to have had three wives, despite bigamy being a criminal offence in the UK, insisting that under Islamic law, he was entitled to “up to four”. One of his wives is reported to have endured three years of abuse and rape.
The woman, who met al-Shamie on Muslim dating app Muzz, told Manchester Evening News (MEN) that he was a “vile” man but "never preached about anything". "All he would do is pray," she said.
Messages between the two reportedly showed al-Shamie arguing that “In Islam a man can have up to four wives but these days most women don’t accept it," and also saying his wife was "f***ed up in the head" and "not worth it".
“He would smooth-talk with a bit of anger if you crossed the line with him. He would say ‘I love you, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that’. He was controlling and abusive. He did rape me multiple times. To us we just fulfil what our husbands say. He was one of them where you have got to do it there and then,” the woman claimed.
The attacker also reportedly had three children with another Pakistani-born wife and is reported to have had a third partner - a white Muslim convert who worked in the NHS.
After ramming his car into worshippers outside Heaton Park Synagogue, al-Shamie launched his knife assault, stabbing multiple worshippers and killing Melvin Cravitz. The other deceased victim, Adrian Daulby, was killed by a stray police bullet as armed officers tried to neutralise al-Shamie.
Three others were injured and are recovering in hospital, one of whom, Yoni Finlay, was also accidentally shot by police.
The three GMP officers who fired their guns at the scene have now been informed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) that they will not face charges of misconduct and are being treated as witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "Officers involved in the incident – in which Jihad al-Shamie, the man named by police as the suspect in the attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, died after being shot by armed officers – are witnesses to our independent investigation.
"As always, this will remain under review as further information becomes available.”
Sir Stephen Watson, Chief Constable of GMP, said the force had been "inundated with messages of thanks and support for the actions that our brave officers took to prevent further harm to our Jewish community".
"I welcome this continued support and acknowledge the fact that the IOPC have today confirmed their finding that no misconduct is apparent in the actions required of our officers in bringing this dreadful attack to an end.
"These findings relate to the death of the terrorist and to the tragic death of Adrian Daulby; and the injury sustained by another courageous member of the congregation."
