Counter Terror Police have made another arrest in connection with a recent spate of attacks against the Jewish community.
A 37-year-old man was arrested in Devon on Sunday on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts. He was taken to London for questioning and remains in custody.
"The arrest is part of an ongoing CTP London investigation into a series of attacks on premises linked to the Jewish community in north west London, an attack on a Persian-language media organisation and the discovery of jars of a non-hazardous substance in Kensington Gardens,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
"CTP officers continue to work closely with Met Police colleagues in response to the series of arson incidents, which includes specialist officers providing protective security advice and support to a large number of organisations, community venues and businesses.”
A CST spokesperson added: “We are grateful to [the police] and the Crown Prosecution Service for their work investigating these appalling attacks.”
A total of 22 people have now been arrested in connection with the attacks, which have included the arson of four Hatzola ambulances and the attempted firebombing of multiple synagogues.
A 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty last week to arson not endangering life after an attack on Kenton United Synagogue.
A bottle containing accelerant was thrown through windows of the shul on Shaftesbury Avenue, in Harrow, causing minor smoke damage but no injuries or significant damage to the building.
