Rahemeh Aladwan claimed that police were acting on behalf of the ‘Israeli Jewish lobby’

A doctor who has complained that the UK is “occupied and controlled” by “Jewish supremacy” has been arrested over a speech which police claimed may have contained “antisemitic tropes”.
Rahmeh Aladwan, a trainee in orthopaedics and trauma, was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of three counts of malicious communications and one of inciting racial hatred.
A video circulating online, and shared by Aladwan herself, showed her being handcuffed while an officer informed her of the alleged offences.
The arresting officer specifically referenced a speech given by the medic at a pro-Palestine protest earlier this year, which they said may have contained “antisemitic tropes” that could be considered “grossly offensive”.
"On October 7, you posted a variety of communications which demonstrated support for Hamas’ attack on Israel. An attack which involved murder, rape and kidnap of Israeli citizens, all of which may be considered grossly offensive in character,” the officer added.
As she was taken into custody, Aladwan complained that police were “doing this for the Israeli Jewish lobby so you can get an arrest on me before my tribunal on Thursday".
She is due to face a hearing before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) tomorrow after being referred for a second time by the General Medical Council (GMC).
Her first hearing saw the tribunal decline to grant an order against her registration as a doctor, which would have effectively suspended her from practising, while the GMC investigates allegations of antisemitism.
The MPTS ruling stated that the panel reached its decision on the basis that “a reasonable and fully informed member of the public would not be alarmed or concerned” by her continuing to practise.
Posting the footage of the arrest online, Aladwan commented: “Sigh, today's arrest confirms what they're persecuting us for saying Britain is not sovereign.
"We are occupied and being made into a joke for the 'israeli' jewish lobby.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “On the morning of Tuesday, 21 October, officers arrested a 31-year-old woman at an address in South Gloucestershire.
“The woman was arrested on suspicion of misusing a public communications network, sending malicious communications and stirring up racial hatred.
“The arrests relate to an ongoing investigation, led by the Met’s Public Order Crime Team, into allegations that comments made at a protest and online in recent months were grossly offensive and antisemitic in nature. She remains in custody.”
