One of the three injured victims of Manchester's Heaton Park Synagogue terror attack has been discharged from hospital.
Father-of-three Yoni Finlay, 39, was accidentally shot by police as terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie launched his knife attack on October 2.
The attack led to the deaths of Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 - the former having also been accidentally hit by police gunfire.
After two weeks in hospital and – according to Manchester Evening News – a seven-hour operation, it has now been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) that Finlay has been discharged to go home.
A GMP spokesperson told the JC: "The man who was injured with a gunshot wound [Finlay] has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home; the security guard [Bernard] who was injured from the car-ramming and the [Community Security Trust (CST)] volunteer [Andrew Franks] who was injured after being stabbed both remain in hospital in stable conditions."
Finlay, who helped barricade the synagogue doors as Al-Shamie tried to enter, was hailed a "hero" by his son who told ITV Grenada that his father "stopped loads of deaths from happening".
Last week, during his time recovering in hospital, his ex-wife, Naomi, told Sky News: "He no longer feels safe in this country and is beginning to question his future here.
"He is upset," she continued. "When I went to see him in hospital, I spoke to him about some of the antisemitism we have faced personally, some of the things I hadn't discussed with him before - and he didn't know and he was really, really upset for me and the children that this is what we have been through."
She also said their young children had been bringing him treats and chocolates to cheer him up.
