A sixth man has been arrested in connection with the arson attack on the Hatzola ambulance service in Golders Green two weeks ago, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Police officers arrested the man at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday morning. They had recognised the 19-year-old – who was attending the court appearance of two other men and a teenager who have been charged over the incident – as being involved in the incident.
The latest suspect was arrested for arson with intent to endanger life and taken into custody.
Hamza Iqbal, 20, and Rehan Khan, 19, both British nationals from Leyton, and a 17-year-old boy from Walthamstow who has dual British and Pakistani nationality, were charged on Friday with arson and being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
They were remanded in custody and are due to appear at the Old Bailey on April 24.
The three men were arrested at different locations in east London on Wednesday, and counter-terror police carried out searches at these addresses.
Two other men, who were arrested on March 25, have been released on bail to later in April pending further enquiries.
Four Hatzola ambulances parked near the Machzikei Hadass Synagogue in Golders Green were set ablaze in the early hours of March 23.
