British-Israeli hostage Emily Damari has marked the first full year since she was returned home following 471 days in Hamas captivity.

Damari, 29, was abducted from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, along with her close friends, twin brothers Gali and Ziv Berman.

She suffered a gunshot wound as she was kidnapped, losing the two middle fingers on her left hand and giving rise to her now signature three-finger hand signal.

In a statement released on Monday morning, she said: “Today, January 19, 2026, marks one full year since I walked free – since I stepped out of that dark nightmare and back into the light, wrapped in our Israeli flag, raising my hand high as a sign that they could never break me.
