Registrations are now open for the inaugural British Jewish Culture Month 2026, a new cultural event spearheaded by the Board of Deputies to celebrate Jewish life in the UK.
The Board is encouraging community groups and bodies to organise events for the forthcoming 2026 festival, which will run nationwide during the Hebrew month of Sivan – May 16 to June 14.
The initiative aims to showcase the “diversity, creativity and contribution of Jewish life in the UK”, with organisers keen to celebrate the joyful elements Jewish communal life after years spent coping with rocketing levels of antisemitism in the wake of October 7.
Announcing that registrations were now open, BoD president Phil Rosenberg said: “We want Jews and our friends and neighbours of different faiths and beliefs to experience all the light, creativity and laughter of Jewish life in the UK”.

He continued: “It is time we all had less ‘oy’ and more joy in our lives. We look forward to a wonderful celebration of all that is good and positive in our community”.
Events will cover areas including comedy, food, music, literature, famous figures, and the economy.
The month will provide a platform to Jewish cultural institutions, and see local Jewish centres including synagogues, schools and charities host events in their communities.
It will also encourage non-Jewish British cultural institutions and public bodies to celebrate British Jews and their ongoing positive contributions to British society.
