One charged after ‘Keffiyeh-clad’ knifeman launches ‘attempted terror attack’ on Israel’s UK embassy

An armed assailant attempted to enter the embassy compound but was foiled by police

Israel’s embassy in London has confirmed that it was subjected to an “attempted terror attack” on Monday in which a knife-wielding assailant attempted to enter the building.

The embassy confirmed on social media that the attacker had “tried to penetrate the Embassy of Israel in order to carry out a terror attack”.

However, they were apparently foiled by security forces, with officers preventing them from doing any harm to those in the building . No injuries have been reported and “all embassy staff and visitors are safe”, the embassy added.

A source told the Daily Mail: “From what I know someone was trying to climb into the building up the walls of the embassy and they were armed with a weapon.
