A leading figure in Britain’s anti-vaccination movement who has repeatedly promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories has been permanently struck off the Nursing and Midwifery Council register. 

Since July last year, Kate Shemirani had been banned from practising as a nurse under an 18-month interim suspension.

However, last Friday the NMC Fitness to Practise Committee issued the conspiracy theorist with a permanent striking-off order.

Under the order, Ms Shemirani cannot practise as a registered nurse for at least another five years, after which point she would be eligible to appeal the decision. 

Ms Shemirani is an advocate of the “Committee of 300” conspiracy theory, a libel that paved the way for The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. 

The idea behind the Committee of 300 is that an international council controls politics, media, banking and the military across Europe.

The former nurse has said: “Can I state the obvious. There is no covid19. It’s a scam. There is however contaminated vaccines, contaminated tests and a lovely direct energy weapon system being primed to activate those nano particles you have injected, ingested and inhaled” (sic).

She has also claimed: “Without the help of the doctors and nurses, the extermination of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, blacks, disabled... in the Holocaust could not have been executed…” (sic).

Ms Shemirani has also branded the National Health Service “the new Auschwitz”.

The anti-vaxx leader made no representations to the NMC Fitness to Practise panel regarding the striking-off order.

However, according to a report compiled by the panel she has previously indicated she would like to be removed from the NMC register.
