UK speaking dates for Yehuda Bauer

articlemain

Professor Yehuda Bauer, the world-leading authority on antisemitism and the Holocaust, is to speak at a series of events in London next month.

A former chairman of the Yad Vashem Research Institute, Professor Bauer is being hosted by Yachad, a group aiming to build support for a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict.

The 90-year-old academic has advised countless international institutions and is a recipient of the Israel Prize - Israel's highest civilian honour.

On Tuesday September 6, he will be in conversation with Tulip Siddiq, Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, at the JW3 community centre. They will explore the distinctions between criticism of Israel, anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

The next day, he will deliver a lecture at LSE on antisemitism in the modern age. Other engagements include a visit to Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue.

Hannah Weisfeld, director of Yachad, said: "It is critically important that we inject academic understanding into the public debate in the UK on antisemitism, anti-Zionism and criticism of Israel. We hope large numbers of people will take this unique opportunity to hear Professor Bauer's opinions."
