Senior Wavertree CLP member in 'Nazi masters' attack on Luciana Berger

EXCLUSIVE: Margaret Tyson, Wavertree representative on Labour Campaign Forum, said Berger supports 'Zionist Israeli government' whose 'Nazi masters taught them well'

A senior member of Wavertree Labour Party is behind a vicious attack on local Jewish MP Luciana Berger - accusing her of supporting the "Zionist Israeli government" whose "Nazi masters taught them well".

Margaret Tyson is Wavertree Constituency Labour Party's (CLP) elected representative on Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Campaign Forum - the body that helps select and vet candidates to stand for the party in local elections.

Wavertree CLP is already facing allegations of bullying and antisemitism against Ms Berger, who is heavily pregnant, with chair Dr Alex Scott-Samuel, who submitted a motion of no confidence against his MP, exposed by the JC as a Rothschild conspiracy theorist.

Another local Labour member, Kenneth Campbell, who submitted his own no-confidence motion in Ms Berger, was earlier found to have described her as a "disruptive Zionist".

In a series of Facebook posts, Ms Tyson, who was out campaigning for Labour on the streets on Liverpool on Sunday, openly linked Ms Berger with the alleged actions of the Israeli government over their treatment of the Palestinians.

In one post Ms Tyson, who spoke at last September's Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, wrote: "Is it any wonder the Zionest (sic) are hated and despised (sic) throughout the world."

Ms Tyson turned her attention to her own local MP Ms Berger after viewing an episode of the BBC's Question Time show last November in which Conservative MP Claire Perry labelled Jeremy Corbyn an "antisemite."

She wrote on Facebook on November 16 last year: "The MP she stated accusing Jeremy Corbyn of being an antisemite no other than Luciana Berger a supporter of the Zionist Israeli government."

Claiming that Israel "is murdering thousands of innocent Palestinian men, women and children" she added: "The majority of right minded people detest the Israeli Zionist government with good reason."

Just one day later, on November 17, Ms Tyson added: "How can we not have empathy with Palestinians when they are not up against these murdering, Zionest (sic) bastards.

"Their NAZI masters have taught them well."

The JC last night contacted Labour for comment.
