Joseph’s Bookstore, which has been a popular fixture on the north London Jewish scene for the past 25 years, is to close.

The store in Temple Fortune, which specialised in Jewish books and Judaica, and hosted regular events for the Jewish community, will close its doors for the last time in April.

Michael Joseph, the 73-year-old owner, who is Jewish, said he was shutting the business because he was retiring.

He said: “I have had tremendous fun serving the community for over 25 years.

“The store has given me a lot of satisfaction, work and fun. It has been a good and happy time.”

The bookshop will hold a sale of stock on March 20.

The store’s next door café – Café Also – will close on March 13.
