Jewish Labour Movement appoints first director

articlemain

Ella Rose, a former Union of Jewish Students president, has been chosen to be the Jewish Labour Movement’s first director.

Ms Rose said her appointment represented “a real vote of confidence in the future of the youth of the Jewish community. This is a really exciting opportunity and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in".

The opportunity was “big for us and big for me", added the former Board of Deputies delegate, who will take up her position at the end of the summer.

Since becoming UJS president in 2014, Ms Rose has campaigned for the Labour Party in Hertsmere and has been elected to serve as a delegate to the Labour Party conference.

Jeremy Newmark, JLM chair, said: “We are delighted to have recruited a young woman of Ella's calibre.

“As both a former student leader and a local Labour activist she will continue to play a significant role in JLM's continued development.”
