Geoffrey Vos is appointed as a High Court judge

Geoffrey Vos, the former chairman of the Bar Council, has been appointed as a High Court judge.

Mr Vos, 54, who also chairs the Social Mobility Foundation, said: “I am very much looking forward to taking up my appointment to the Chancery Bench.”

The head of chambers at 3 Stone Buildings for 11 years until spring this year, he was also appointed an Appeal Court judge for the Cayman Islands at the end of last year.

He is a member of both the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, St John’s Wood and also the Herefordshire Jewish community.

He and his wife Vivien farm sheep, cattle and arable land in Mathon near Malvern.
