Footballer Tal Ben Haim faces antisemitic abuse

articlemain

Footballer Tal Ben Haim has been targeted with a torrent of antisemitic abuse by fans of his club.

The Israeli-born defender, who transferred to the Queens Park Rangers last week, was attacked on the club’s official Facebook page.

The messages have subsequently been deleted and offenders “blocked” from posting on the site.

According to a report in the Sun, one user questioned how Muslim Adel Taarabt, a QPR midfielder, could “live playing alongside a Jew?”

A QPR spokesperson said: "We are deleting the posts on Facebook and blocking the people who posted them."

Mr Ben Haim, 30, was born in Rishon-le-Zion, and has played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Chelsea and Manchester City.
