Corbyn takes aim at Jewish journalist in new documentary

A Vice News documentary has revealed Jeremy Corbyn's uncomfortable reaction to a journalist expressing his concerns about antisemitism in the Labour party.

Documentary makers for the online news channel were granted privileged access to the leader of the opposition, which included seeing him and his team make preparations for Prime Minister’s Questions.

In one sequence in the film, ‘Jeremy Corbyn, The Outsider’, Mr Corbyn expresses his outrage at an article written by Guardian journalist Jonathan Freedland, which claimed that the party did have a problem with antisemitism and urged them to take it seriously.

Mr Corbyn can be seen taking a phone call with Seumas Milne, his head of communications, and discussing the article by Mr Freedland (who is also a columnist for the JC).

He says (see the video above, at 3 minutes 30 seconds): “The big negative today is the Jonathan Freedland article in the Guardian (Labour and the left have an antisemitism problem).

“Utterly disgusting, subliminal nastiness, the whole lot of it.” He adds: “He’s not a good guy at all.  He seems kind of obsessed with me.”

The film also captured Mr Corbyn's reaction to Ken Livingstone's suspension from the party for allegedly making antisemitic comments.

When pressed on the matter, and asked if he understood what was wrong with Mr Livingstone’s comments, the Labour leader replied: "The problem was Ken made inappropriate remarks, a decision was made to suspend him from party membership so they can be investigated and that's where we are at."
