Tributes have been paid to man who died after collapsing while playing football.

Nick Stanley, 33, is understood to have collapsed while playing on the grounds of the Kantor King Solomon School in Ilford on Monday.

In a statement, the school said: "We are aware of the tragic death of a young man on Monday 3rd June. He was taken unwell while playing football at a private letting in the school grounds.

“He was taken to hospital by ambulance and sadly later died.

"Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. We also commend the efforts of the young first aider who attended whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive.”

HFS headteacher Rachel Fink paid tribute to Mr Stanley, who was a former pupil at the school.

“We are all deeply saddened by the news of Nick’s tragic passing. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time," she said.

Mr Stanley reportedly worked at GLS Education.
