On the same day her comments were reported, Brandon Lewis, chairman of the Conservative party, announced that she had been suspended, adding “We do not accept any form of abuse or racism.”
The local Conservative group, South Warwickshire Conservatives, pointed social media users towards Mr Lewis’s comment, adding: “We have zero tolerance for antisemitism in the Conservative party.”
In response, one person on Twitter said Cllr Harris was “agreeing that the AS scandal is a Mossad false flag”.
Cllr Harris said: “It is not agreeing it is a statement of fact and ties in with the rest of the conversation about democracy free speech etc and how the UK is being paralysed and silenced by folk being labelled, so we are not properly debating topics.

“I have to say just because folk make a statement or comment does not mean it is wrong, you have proved my case today and also if folk speak out against Israel policy or recent war crime findings, this is not antisemitic and prooves [sic] my case for the bullying and silencing that is occurring.”
The Conservative Party said it not did comment on individual cases while an investigation was ongoing.
