Prime Minister Theresa May is to address the UJIA's dinner to mark Israel's 70th anniversary, it has been announced.

She will address more than 800 of its supporters on Monday evening at an event at a dinner that will "celebrate Israel's achievements and look forward to Israel's aspirations in building a shared society".

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and Israel's ambassador to Britain, Mark Regev, will also attend, as will Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner of Reform Judaism, Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg of Masorti, Rabbi Joseph Dweck of the Spanish & Portuguese communities, and Rabbi Danny Rich of Liberal Judaism.

UJIA chief executive Michael Wegier said: “We are honoured to welcome Prime Minister Theresa May for the Israel 70 Anniversary Dinner, which will celebrate Israel’s achievements and look to the future.
