D’oh! Did you miss out on Morrisons’ 50p Chanukah doughnuts?

The promotional poster put out by the supermarket chain explained that Rabbi Akiva Osher Padwa had approved the doughnuts as kosher

Two branches of Morrisons pulled off a minor Chanukah miracle by selling kosher doughnuts at just 10p each.

The Stamford Hill store in north London quickly sold out on Tuesday after the supermarket giant offered five of the treats for 50p, with “massive queues” also forming outside the Edgware Road store, according to social media.

The promotional poster put out by the supermarket chain explained that Rabbi Akiva Osher Padwa had approved the doughnuts as kosher.

It is believed the two stores were the only Morrisons sites to sell kosher doughnuts with this particular offer.

Discussion on social media quickly turned to efforts to lobby Morrisons – and even other supermarket chains – to extend the promotions to other areas, most notably Borehamwood.
