Statement regarding our article ‘Document reveals Iranian pressure on Britain not to ban the terrorist IRGC’ and apology

A statement from the anonymous analyst was missing from the original report. We are happy to summarise their position here

articlemain

Earlier in the week, we published an article based on an Iranian document which suggested that an anonymous think tank analyst had passed sensitive information to an Iranian diplomat, which was then used to “bully” the British government into not proscribing the IRGC as a terrorist organisation.

The analyst in question has strongly denied either receiving such information or passing it to the Iranian diplomat. The analyst insists that the suggestion made in the document was entirely wrong and without foundation. We apologise for not including this in our original story and are happy to publish and highlight it now.
