Suella Braverman has hit out at her former party’s record in office as she announced her defection to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

The former home secretary, whose husband Rael is Jewish, yesterday became the latest Conservative politician to defect to Reform.

Other recent arrivals from the Tories include former chancellor Nadhim Zahawi, former home office minister and shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick and Andrew Rosindell, the MP for Romford.

In a speech yesterday, Braverman, took aim at her former colleagues and spoke out against the Conservatives for “making promises with zero intention of keeping them".
