Representatives of five of the UK’s major political parties will face questions from voters at an exclusive JC online event, ahead of the May 7 local elections.
The event will be streamed live across YouTube and the JC’s social media platforms from 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 29.
Moderated by JC Political Editor Lorin Bell-Cross, the debate will see representatives from the Conservative, Labour, Green, Liberal Democrat and Reform parties present their case to the electorate.
The panel will be made up of:
- Greg Smith, shadow transport minister and chair of Conservative Friends of Israel
- Lord Katz, Labour whip and former chair of the Jewish Labour Movement
- Caroline Russell, Green leader in the London Assembly and councillor for Islington

Laila Cunningham, Westminster councillor Reform candidate for London mayor in 2028

Marie Goldman, Lib Dem MP for Chelmsford and spokesperson for women and equalities
Audience members will be able to submit their questions to the field ahead of the event or in real time here.
