Police have charged a man with 11 offences in connection with a spate of antisemitic attacks involving excrement at Jewish sites across Golders Green.
Ionut-Christian Bold, 37, was charged with six counts of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage, one count of racially or religiously aggravated harassment without violence, three counts of destroying or damaging property, and one count of having an article with intent to destroy or damage property.
Bold, who has no fixed address, has been remanded to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Monday, September 15.
A Shomrim spokesperson said the case has “caused deep distress to our community, with synagogues, a nursery, and a school all targeted in vile antisemitic acts.
“We are grateful to the police for their swift and determined work in bringing charges so quickly. Shomrim volunteers have been working round the clock with the police throughout this investigation, and we will continue to support victims and reassure our community as the case proceeds through the courts.”

Superintendent Zubin Writer, who leads local policing in Barnet, Brent and Harrow, said: “We will always treat allegations of this nature extremely seriously and these charges follow an investigation by a team of local officers.
“We continue to offer support to local residents, including members of the Jewish community.”
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, North-West BCU Commander, said: “We remain in close contact with the local Jewish community as we continue to provide our support and reassurance.”
Between September 4 and 11, seven different premises of significance to the local Jewish community had faeces smeared on them, with Shomrim saying earlier this week the spate of attacks has left the Jewish community feeling “anxious, hurt, and increasingly worried.”

CCTV footage from the affected sites showed a lighter skinned male of medium build, wearing a dark hooded jumper, carrying out the vandalism.
