A legal action group has reported the controversial British based Al Hiwar TV station to broadcast regulators Ofcom for referring to a Hamas terrorist that murdered an Orthodox Jew as a martyr.

The group has also reported the channel to the police for allegedly breaching anti-terror legislation.

In a programme about the terror attack on 22 Nov, a strapline was shown on the screen included the phrase  “A Palestinian’s martyrdom” and the presenter referred to the murderer as a “martyr”.

UK broadcasting watchdog Ofcom’s code prohibits “material promoting or encouraging engagement in terrorism”.
