Anti-circumcision protests are a bizarre stunt, say Jewish campaigners

articlemain

Plans for a series of protests against circumcision have been attacked by Jewish campaigners.

The Justice for Men and Boys (J4MB) political party says it will mount demonstrations against what it calls “male genital mutilation” in London in May and June.

Protests will take place at two sites in Golders Green, north-west London – one of them outside the office of the JC – at the Home Office and at the head office of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in central London.

Milah UK, a pro-circumcision campaign group, described the plans as “a media stunt”.

J4MB was “a small unrepresentative group which was ‘targeting the Jewish community to push its bizarre narrow agenda’,” it said in a statement.

Milah UK added that it was “liaising with relevant organisations to develop an appropriate response to the proposed protest”.

J4MB was founded in 2013 by retired businessman Mike Buchanan who describes himself on the group’s website as “men’s human rights advocate”.

It follows an anti-feminist agenda and campaigns against “anti-male bias” in the media.

It is due to hold its second international conference on “men’s issues” in London in July.
