Oscar-winner Natalie Portman has become a mother for the second time.
The Israeli-born actress, who scooped an Academy Award for her lead role in Black Swan in 2010, gave birth to a daughter last month.
In an interview with People, the star’s agent said: “Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby girl, Amalia Millepied, on February 22.
“Mother and baby are happy and healthy.”
Ms Portman, 35, and her French choreographer husband are already parents to son Aleph, 5. She was recently nominated again for best actress at this year’s Oscars for her role in Jackie, but skipped the ceremony having just given birth.
Though she is notoriously tight-lipped about her private life, Ms Portman described how parenthood had changed her in an article for The New York Times’ T Magazine last summer.
In it she wrote: “[Parenthood] made me much calmer under stress, because there’s that weird parent thing you develop, that when things get really bad, your voice gets calm and your blood pressure slows, and you can make everything okay again.”
